Google Broadens Facebook Partnership, Focusing On Machine Learning Pytorch Framework

Google broadens Facebook partnership, focusing on Machine Learning PyTorch framework over its hardware and software devices for AI development.

PyTorch is a profound learning system intended for simple and adaptable experimentation and Facebook on Tuesday declared the preview release of a refreshed variant of the structure – PyTorch 1.0.

The new association is intended for making PyTorch structure work with Google’s custom computer chips for ML, named Tensor Processing Units, or TPU, the reports added. Facebook reported that PyTorch 1.0 quickens the work process associated with taking achievement explore in AI to production deployment.

Director of Product Management at Google Cloud, Rajen Sheth wrote in a blog post on Tuesday that, “In conjunction with today’s release of PyTorch 1.0 Preview, we are broadening support for PyTorch throughout Google Cloud’s AI platforms and services. Today, we’re pleased to announce that engineers on Google’s TPU team are actively collaborating with core PyTorch developers to connect PyTorch to Cloud TPUs.”

ML developers use number of various tools, and Goolge has integrated some of the most popular open source frameworks into its services and products such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and XGBoost.

Sheth added in the blog, “The long-term goal is to enable everyone to enjoy the simplicity and flexibility of PyTorch while benefiting from the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of Cloud TPUs.”
